One of the last things you would want to do right now is cook for a long period of time on a steamy oven. While you cannot risk not going to the kitchen during this season, there are certain Meal Preparation Tips that would help you spend less time in the kitchen.

These are some of the tips that would help you spend less time in the kitchen to enable you to enjoy family time together. Although it may take time in the beginning, it saves you loads of times in the end.

  • Select a meal each day to prepare then gradually make it a habit
  • Endeavor to get a variety of glass or plastic containers in different shapes and sizes
  • Chop everything off when you get back from the grocery store
  • Ensure that the oven dial is set to about 360. This is to ensure that it is always ready to cook whatever you need

While we have mentioned some tips, there are some cooking tips that would ensure you spend less time;

  • Because you are on a budget does not mean that you are not allowed to eat healthily. So it is advised that you stock up your kitchen with pepper, strawberries, banana and other fruits.
  • You can freeze your fruits. Peel them, wash, and place in plastic boxes then lay in the freezer.
  • If after going through your pocket and you discover that getting fresh fruits could affect your savings, you could decide to settle for pre-frozen fruits
  • You could decide to make enough noodles or rice that could last for a week. Place each of them in separate containers instead of putting them into one large container.
  • For proteins food like meat and fish, you could decide to buy in larger quantities instead of smaller cuts as they are more economical.
  • Making egg muffins for breakfast is also a good idea.

Making adequate meal preparation for each week is one way you can spend less time in the kitchen.
